A Local Operation, Run by Locals
Keith Church established CBS's Cairns operation in the early 1990s, and our permanent Bungalow facility was opened in 1996 to support the growing volume of work across the Far North. Today the Cairns office is led by Jason Frear and operates with its own crews, supervisors, vehicles and material stockholdings.
The wet tropics demand a different specification to most Australian markets. High humidity, monsoonal rainfall and cyclone exposure all change how waterproofing membranes, epoxy systems and protective coatings need to be designed and applied. Decades of FNQ-specific experience inform the products and methodology we use here.
